Quartz Optical Fibers
These single core optical fibers are an inexpensive and simple solution for light guiding applications, such as transporting light from a source to a sample or from a sample to a spectrometer or other photodetector. Their large core and high transmittance makes these fibers particularly useful for long distance applications.
Optical fiber is an ideal light transmission tool. It can be combined with various detection equipment such as spectrometer, power meter, temperature detector for optical analysis. It is common used for the light in and out of the integrating sphere for high sensitivity measurement. Core diameter, length, connector and core number can be customized.
Quartz optical fiber adopts quartz material as the optical core layer and fluorine-doped quartz material as the optical skin layer, covered with a resin coating layer to ensure the strength of the optical fiber, and can be coated with an outer sheath layer if necessary. The use of fluorine-doped quartz material as the optical skin makes the optical fiber transmission spectrum range wider and can transmit high-power optical energy. It is the main fiber type we use for optical applications.
